NHTSA Study Confirms Drunk Drivers Cause Forty Percent of the Traffic Fatalities

No surprises here.  Research has shown that alcohol plays a major role in car accidents involving fatalities.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) research shows that between 2002 and 2006, nearly 4 fatalities out of ten involved alcohol impaired car wrecks in the last two weeks of December. The new study also found that drivers twenty one to twenty four years old are involved in more alcohol impaired fatal crashes than any other age group.  Drunk driving is one of the most serious, and preventable, dangers we face on our roadways.  The death toll from drunk driving accidents is higher between Christmas and New Year's than at any other time.
