Originally a city girl from Chicago’s North side and a loyal Cubs fan, Melissa went to school in Wisconsin and New York. Shortly after Melissa’s marriage to Art in 1995, the couple attended the wedding of one of Melissa’s NY college roommates – in Georgia! This is when she and Art fell in love with Georgia and began the process of moving here! They found their new life in Fayette County in 1998 and have raised three daughters here, later adding a distant cousin from Norway to their brood, extending the count to 4 daughters! Melissa loves spending time with her family and friends, preferably outside, with amusement parks and hiking being her favorite. You can also catch her dancing, roller-skating, and coffee house hopping.
Her passions include her family, friends, and her faith. She believes in changing the world by serving people and lives by this quote by Dr. Wayne Dyer, “See the light in others, and treat them as if that is all you see.”
