A Fresno California jury returned a compensatory damage verdict for over $9 million to two people who were injured in a car accident in April 2008. A truck driver in a refrigerator truck had made a sudden and dangerous lane change on the highway and rear-ended one plaintiff's pickup, which then slammed into the rear of the other plaintiff's van. The wreck left both plaintiffs with severe injuries, including paralysis.
