Coweta County Personal Injury Attorney - Senoia Car Accident Seriously Injures 4

Posted on Jan 04, 2011

A serious accident involving two vehicles that occurred on january 3, 20111 on Poplar Road is still under investigation by the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.  Four people were reported in critical condition.

The wreck occurred near Poplar Road's intersection with Bill Hart Road.  Melissa Deegan, 38, of Senoia, was driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla with her 2-month-old daughter and 10-year-old son.  Deegan was stopped on Poplar Road waiting to turn left onto Bill Hart Road when a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by 48-year-old Karen Cook, of Senoia, violently rear ended the Corolla, causing it to cross Poplar Road and come to rest in a ditch.

Investigators will continue to collect evidence and recreate the events leading up to the accident. They plan to return to the scene today to continue their investigation.  While alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor, one need not speculate to much to wonder whether texting or some other distraction was aoccupying the attention of Ms. Cook.  The accident is being reconstructed today.
