Cash settlement at mediation. Plaintiff was delivering food/drinks for the Delta Crown rooms at the airport. After the delivery and while backing onto the freight elevator, the gate slammed down on his head. Discovery revealed that years before, the “safety edge” had been disabled in favor of an “eye” inside the cab of the elevator but not on every floor which created the hazard that lead to the incident.
